Asphalt loom provides superior protection from the temperature and chemical environment found, for example, in an engine compartment.
Asphalt loom is flame retardant and meets the following specifications: S.A.E. J-562 Ford ESBM3L38A, Chrysler MS542, GM 676M, Government HHT791C, Packard Electric PM451.
The fabric is saturated with an asphalt compound and coated with a black bituminous coating for flame resistance.
With a temperature rating of 275° F (135° C), asphalt coated fabric loom is excellent electrical wires in harsh environments.
